The Slovenian War was an armed conflict that took place between Slovenia and Yugoslavia in June and July 1991. Slovenia declared its independence from Yugoslavia, which led to a military response from the Yugoslav federal army. The war lasted only ten days and ended with a ceasefire that recognised Slovenia's independence and laid the foundation for the further dissolution of Yugoslavia.
